Building a Creative Ecosystem: The Entrepreneurial Artist with Stefon Harris, 2026 Distinguished Jazz Artist in Residence

Acclaimed vibraphonist, educator, and creative innovator Stefon Harris invites students into a conversation about how artists build sustainable and expansive creative lives.

Drawing from his work across performance, composition, education, and music technology—including the development of Harmony Cloud—Harris explores how artistic curiosity, collaboration, and listening can evolve into multiple creative pathways over time. Rather than focusing on “entrepreneurship” in the traditional sense, this session reframes the idea of the entrepreneurial artist as someone who builds ecosystems of creativity—connecting artistic practice, community, innovation, and opportunity.

Open to students from all disciplines, this workshop is designed for anyone interested in creativity, leadership, collaboration, and shaping meaningful impact through the arts.
