Harvard Ability Plus, in collaboration with the Harvard Law School Project on Disability (HPOD) and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Apple TV to host Being Heumann, a biographical comedy-drama film by Sian Heder starring Ruth Madeley as disability rights activist Judy Heumann and Mark Ruffalo as Joseph Califano, Jr.
We are excited to share that we have received the rights to provide the Harvard community with an advance screening of the film the day before it will be released on Apple TV.
We will be hosting this watch party in a hybrid format. In-person participants will view the film in the Chao Center Room 120 (on the HBS Campus). Virtual participants will receive a Zoom link to join the room and watch opening remarks by both Ability Plus and Dr. Michael Stein (Harvard Law School), friend and colleague of Judy Heumann.
Please register and let us know that you would like to attend! We look forward to seeing you!
Additional notes:
- This screening is available to Harvard affiliates only.
- The film is Rated R for language, some sexual material and drug use. Invitation is non-transferable.
- No recording permitted. Anti-piracy security on-site.
- Contributions come from Harvard Chan’s William Lowry Fund. William Lowry was a Harvard Chan alumnus with a disability, and after his passing, his classmates raised funds in his memory. The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is pleased to support this screening event with the William Lowry fund.
