Abstract: The article discusses the benefits of diplomacy to avoid war. While Israel and Palestine are on the verge of negotiating a settlement and Iran prepares to discuss its nuclear weapons program with a coalition of Asian and European countries, the United States refuses to take part in any negotiations, due to outdated foreign policies.
