Class Remembrances

Brooks R. Burdette

C. Renee Manes remembers:

Brooks was a wonderful friend, and a great lawyer. Brooks frequently hosted my son at his apartment in New York when my son was in college in the area. My son ended up giving his first son the middle name of Brooks in remembrance, and this summer I showed him pictures and told him about his namesake when he came to visit. I think about Brooks often and miss having him to turn to for discussion and advice on my most difficult problems.

Jacqueline A. Berrien, David Florendo, Timothy W. Joranko, Louise Hope Lewis, Paul Steven Miller, Teresa A. Miller, Michael Steven Weiner

Gloria Valencia-Weber remembers:

These classmates were engaged with the world and how lawyers can make the positive difference. Their quality and commitment shone in our friendship while they were law students. Their careers provided valuable service to our nation, sadly with deaths much too early in their mortal time.

Jacqueline A. Berrien and Louise Hope Lewis

Odeana Rae Neal remembers:

I still miss Jackie and Hope even though it’s been more than ten years since they passed. We were like the Three Musketeers in law school. I can’t believe I’m the last woman standing. They did their best to make the world a better place and it took a toll on their minds and bodies. I pray for the repose of their souls every night.
