The Disability Law Center (DLC) is currently working with Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) to prepare the third edition of Legal Rights of Individuals with Disabilities, a treatise and practice guide used both by attorneys in our office and many other public interest lawyers throughout the state. (See Table of Contents, linked here. )
We are looking for a number of 2L or 3L law students to help us for 10-30 hours each (to be negotiated) during the month of February 2021. The work will be legal research and writing to update one of the following chapters:
Chapter 1 – Employment Discrimination
Chapter 2 – Housing Rights
Chapter 3 – Enforcing Fair Housing Rights to Live in the Community of Choice [Zoning and Land Use]
Chapter 6 – Health Care Access
Chapter 8 – Public Accommodations
Chapter 9 – Transportation
Chapter 13 – Advocacy for Community Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
(Links to the chapters may be found on Westlaw at LRID MA-CLE Contents).
Please contact Rick Glassman, co-editor of the book and Director of Advocacy at DLC by sending a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis beginning 1/26/21. We will attempt to match candidates with one of your areas of interest. You will likely be assigned to collaborate with the author of the assigned chapter as a co-supervisor. Thanks for your interest.
