An independent clinical opportunity is available in the Legal Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for the fall 2023 semester.  Depending on the needs of the Legal Department and the student’s interests, general responsibilities may include research and analysis, preparation of legal memoranda, assistance with oversight investigations, among other things.  The student will likely be asked to work on matters arising out of the operation and development of payment systems, including the Bank’s fintech-related initiatives.  There may also be some discrete assignments on other legal topics during the semester. Application deadline: Friday, July 14, 2023.

This placement will preferably be for 3 credits (meaning 12 hours of work per week during the semester), though a 2 credit placement (8 hours per week) may be possible.

Students should submit a resume and cover letter to Liz Solar esolar@law.harvard.edu.   Applications will be sent by Prof. Tarullo to the Federal Reserve Bank for their review and selection.

Once a student is selected by the Federal Reserve Bank, in order to earn academic credits, the student will be required to submit an independent clinical application. Please consult: https://hls.harvard.edu/clinics/independent-clinical/

Professor Tarullo will be the faculty supervisor. dtarullo@law.harvard.edu
