Monica E. Monroe is the Assistant Dean for Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging.  Monica attended Boston University and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy.  Monica attended The George Washington University Law School. After graduating from law school, Monica was a judicial law clerk in Washington, DC, and a litigator in private practice before entering higher education in 2004. Monica enjoys prayer, meditation, music, sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Allison Patenaude

Director of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging

Allison Patenaude is the Director for the Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging. She graduated from Fairfield University with a bachelor’s degree in history before earning her master’s degree in education from Boston University. Allison has over eighteen years of student services experience in higher education. At HLS, Allison oversees the operations and administration for all HLS student organizations, student journals, and HLS Amicus. In her free time, Allison volunteers as a special education advocate with a local SEPAC organization, enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Beryl Berridge

Assistant Director of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging

Beryl Berridge is the Assistant Director for the Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging. She graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development. Beryl has over eight years of experience in mentoring, implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives, event planning, career coaching, and college advising. At HLS, Beryl facilitates student and alumni mentoring programs and the day-to-day operations of HLS Amicus. In her free time, Beryl loves spending time with family and friends, painting portraits, listening to podcasts, and enjoying the outdoors.

Matilda Matovu

Program Administrator

Matilda Matovu is a Program Administrator for the Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging. At HLS, Matilda supports our student-led organizations.  She serves as the primary contact for student organization-related questions. Matilda received her bachelors as a biology and political science double major from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She also has earned her masters in international relations with a focus on Human Rights and Education from the Harvard Extension School. In her free time, Matilda enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and eating a great meal with friends and family.

Armando Olea Romero

Assistant Director

Armando Olea Romero is an Assistant Director for the Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging. He serves as the primary contact for community programs affiliated with or designed by Harvard Law School that advance EDIB principles . Armando received his bachelor’s in international development studies and Chicana/o studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) before earning his master’s in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Armando enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

Ralph Vieux

Staff Assistant

Ralph Vieux is an Staff Assistant who is full of positive energy. He studied Seventh-Day Adventist Theology and Religion at Atlantic Union College and Washington Adventist University. Ralph works in the front office of the Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging and is the initial contact for all things CEEB. Ralph offers assistance and guidance on various CEEB events, activities, and projects. Ralph enjoys sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, spending time with family and friends, photography, sports, and volunteering.

Michelle Prince

Finance Assistant

Michelle Prince is the Finance Assistant for the Office of Community Engagement, Equity, and Belonging. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and social sciences. Michelle has over fifteen years of financial experience in higher education. At HLS, Michelle assists our student organizations and journals ensuring financial compliance with University, Law School, and government regulations. Michelle enjoys traveling, dancing, and teaching about hair care on YouTube.
