HLS Staff: Please join us for Topics @ 10:30 with Professor Randy Kennedy on Tuesday, September 17. Professor Kennedy will share a book project he has been working on which focuses on the many ways that protests against racial injustice in the mid-twentieth century changed American law. We hope you will join us.
New ITS Service Desk
ITS is proud to announce the grand re-opening of our newly renovated Service Desk! We are located in WCC B081, now accessible through the WCC Student Lab. Come see us for in person help for all of your HLS computing services, New Hire Orientation and onboarding, and Audio Visual services for your events. We look forward to assisting you in our new space!
Welcome to the New Events Office Website and Room Request Form!

The Office of Event Scheduling and Support website has a new look! Visit our website for updated policies, EMS WebApp information, and a new FAQ.
We have also launched a new, online room request form. This form is exclusively used to request space on dates that are not available in the EMS WebApp because they fall within the 72 business hour booking restriction window or on a campus wide event date. Visit the OES website or EMS WebApp to identify all the blackout dates.
HLS Picnic (Take 2) and 5th annual HLS Volleyball Tournament!

Please join us for the HLS Summer Picnic: Take 2 on Tuesday, August 13. We will have a bounce house, lawn games, a make your own sundae bar, and no lightning (we hope.) We also will host the 5th annual HLS Volleyball Tournament during the picnic!
HLS Staff-Faculty Family Picnic

Join Dean John Manning for the second annual HLS Staff-Faculty Family Picnic. This will be a great opportunity for all of us—staff, faculty, and our families—to get together, relax, enjoy some great food and beverages, and have fun! As is typical of New England weather, the forecast for this afternoon has shifted enough that we’re moving the picnic back onto Holmes Field.
Harvard Phone VoIP Maintenance: July 30th, 5-10pm
Beginning on Tuesday, July 30th at 5:00 PM through Tuesday, July 30th at 10:00 PM, Verizon will be performing maintenance on our VoIP phone platform.
Training: Web Accessibility for Content Creators

This training is in response to the new digital accessibility policy at Harvard and the audience is for anyone who develops or publishes content for a website at Harvard (even if it's not your main job responsibility). We will go over what accessibility is, its importance, the 10 essentials for content creators, and some tools and resources.
Apply to the 2019-2020 Emerging Leaders Program

Applications for the 2019 – 2020 Emerging Leaders program are being accepted now through Thursday, August 15. Emerging Leaders was created to give HLS employees the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through educational sessions, mentoring, events and community service. Please consider applying for the upcoming cohort as part of your professional development for the academic year.
Revised Independent Contractor Policy Presentation

Attention all staff who work with contractors and consultants! Join us on July 11, from 1-2:00 p.m. in Hauser 104 to hear from Karen Kittredge (Harvard’s Manager of Policy and Business Process) and Polly Scannell (Deputy Director of the Office of Labor & Employee Relations), who will be on campus on to share critical information on updates to the Independent Contractor policy.
EMS Outage and Fall 2019 Classroom Room Release

The EMS Scheduling System will be offline from 9am Monday, July 22 through 9am Monday, July 29 in order to import the Fall 2019 academic schedule. No full service room requests may be placed during this outage. Beginning at 9am on Monday, July 29, the HLS community will be able to book classrooms for the Fall Term (9/3/2019-12/8/2019).
EMS WebApp Offline for Updates on 6/27

On Thursday, June 27, the EMS WebApp will be offline in order to install a series of software and security updates. The system is scheduled to be offline between 6am-4pm and you will not be able to book space or request services through the EMS WebApp during this timeframe. Once the EMS WebApp is back online, when you attempt to log in you will be redirected to a HarvardKey login screen and then back into EMS WebApp.
HLS Weekly Run/Walk

Join your colleagues for a weekly run or walk, Wednesdays at 12:10pm. Runners and walkers meet outside the Hark. All are welcome!

Career Connections Across Harvard 2019

The annual Career Connections across Harvard networking event for Harvard staff is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5 from 12:00-3:00 in WCC Milstein Conference Center. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet with representatives from different schools and units around the University to explore other areas of work at Harvard and expand professional networks.
