RA Position for North American Petitions Project Assignments will include research related to political theory, constitutional law and history, legislation (lawmaking), and federal Indian law.

Research assistant will analyze and code data related to congressional petitions, helping to build the first database of congressional petitions from the Founding until 1950.

Supplemental data work will focus on petitions by Native Americans and Tribal governments at the state and federal level. Work will be conducted for credit and will be overseen by Climenko Fellow, Maggie McKinley, and Professor Dan Carpenter of the Department of Government.
