Research Assistance for Project on Solitary Confinement in Immigration Detention

Research Assistants are needed for the summer and fall to work on a project involving the solitary confinement of immigrants. RAs will evaluate data gathered through Freedom of Information Act Requests and state Privacy Act Requests, conduct legal research, and write memos exploring potential federal and state remedies available, particularly to immigrant detainees who are trauma survivors. Experience with quantitative data analysis is a plus. RAs will also assist with developing surveys and conducting interviews of immigration officials and individuals previously held in solitary confinement. Interested students should send a short 250-word statement of interest and resume to Sabi Ardalan (sardalan@law.harvard.edu) and Phil Torrey (ptorrey@law.harvard.edu).
