Mira Naseer will spend her fellowship year with REDRESS in London, United Kingdom. REDRESS is an international human rights organization that pursues legal claims on behalf of survivors of torture to obtain justice and reparation for the violation of their human rights. Mira will work primarily within REDRESS’ Asset Recovery and Sanctions teams on issues at the intersection of human rights and grand corruption. In particular, she will work to strengthen the UK’s Magnitsky Sanctions regime, and develop legal claims that aim to repurpose seized assets as reparations for victim and survivor communities.
While at Harvard, Mira was a clinical student in the Immigration and Refugee Clinic, Crimmigration Clinic, and International Human Rights Clinic. She was also a staff member of the Harvard Human Rights Journal, and worked on Professor Deborah Anker’s treatise, Law of Asylum in the United States. Prior to law school, Mira obtained a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
