Make the Road’s New Jersey Initiative

Lauren will work at Make the Road’s New Jersey Initiative where she will provide comprehensive tax representation, advocacy, and community education to low-income immigrants in New Jersey. She has been working for a year as a law clerk to Chief Justice Stuart Rabner of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. As a law student, she participated in the Immigration and Refugee Clinic, where she represented an indigenous Guatemalan client in asylum proceedings, the International Human Rights Clinic, and the Making Rights Real: The Ghana Project. She worked as an intern for the Center for Reproductive Rights and Adalah: The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Haifa, Israel. She has since gained a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in Near Eastern Studies and Peace & Gender Studies from Cornell University. Before law school, she worked at the Workmen’s Circle Center for Jewish Culture & Social Justice as well as at the Harvard University Committee on Human Rights Studies.
