Gabrielle Frieser will spend her fellowship year with Reprieve working on its lethal injection project, which uses a combination of litigation, investigation, and public policy advocacy to defend people who are facing the death penalty. While at Harvard, Gabrielle was a student attorney with the Criminal Justice Institute, where she represented low-income clients facing criminal charges in the Massachusetts court system. She also participated in the Immigration and Refugee Clinic, where she successfully represented clients at an asylum hearing in federal immigration court. Prior to law school, she researched human trafficking for the Dutch government, worked as a grant writer for a nonprofit, and worked on restitution for survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing. She received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
