Emily will work in the legal clinic of Instituto para las Mujeres en la Migración (Institute for Migrant Women), an organization that works to protect the rights of migrant women in Mexico City. Her area of focus will be transnational family reunification, trafficking cases, and family law issues, including community education and training. Emily represented clients in domestic violence-based asylum cases at the Harvard Immigration Clinic and in family law cases at Cambridge Community Legal Service and Counseling Center. She has also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Human Rights Journal at Harvard, and interned at the ACLU of Massachusetts where she worked in impact litigation and policy. Before law school, Emily was a teacher in the Bronx, and holds an M.S. in Teaching and a B.A. in International Affairs and History from George Washington University.
