• Plaintiffs’ firms are private law firms that represent plaintiffs in litigation. They vary widely in terms of salary, hiring practices, and practice areas (employment law, civil rights, mass torts, antitrust, securities, personal injury, and more).
  • A handful of plaintiffs’ firms are registered to recruit HLS students through EIP with OCS this summer, and more will participate in V-PIIP with OPIA in August-September.
  • Students should consider participating in both EIP and V-PIIP, if interested in firms recruiting through both.
  • For plaintiffs’ firms participating in EIP, if they are your primary interest over other EIP firms, plan to bid on them through EIP Preview in mid-June. Work with an OCS adviser to prepare materials and practice for interviews. Note that under OCS’s employer recruiting policies, students can hold one EIP offer open until April 1, 2025 to explore public interest and other non-EIP job opportunities, including plaintiffs’ firms that do not participate in EIP.  See the EIP Employer List to view firms participating in EIP this year.
  • Plan to bid on firms participating in V-PIIP in mid-August. Firms will choose to participate in either the virtual interview component or the resume collection component of V-PIIP. Work with an OPIA adviser to prepare materials and practice for interviews.
  • For additional information on plaintiffs’ firms (and on other types of mission-driven firms), see OPIA’s Private Public Interest Law and Plaintiffs’ Firm Guide and informational page, and OCS’s informational page
