Subject: Harvard Law School – 2021 EIP Date Announcement and Spring Engagement

Dear Employer,

As we wrap up what has been a truly extraordinary 2020 recruiting season, we thank you again for your continued partnership. As you begin to plan for the 2021 recruiting season, I write to let you know that our 2021 Early Interview Program (EIP) will be August 9-13 and be entirely virtual. Registration will open in late March, at which time we will send additional information about the program.

Despite our desire to consider other options, it is apparent that most law school recruiting this season will take place in August. We believe our students should be competing for job opportunities at the same time as everyone else. As such and after seeking feedback from many employers, we decided on the second week of August. Many employers told us that holding our program sooner would be untenable for them and would make an already difficult situation even worse.

To help you engage with the class of 2023 this spring, we invite you to participate in an employer virtual chat. Registration for chats is on a first-come, first-served basis, and chats will begin the week of March 8. In addition, whether or not you do a chat, we invite you to submit written or video materials in our Employer Virtual Chat and Resource Library.

In the meantime, if you are still seeking 2021 summer or first-year associate candidates, please post a position in our job bank, which is exclusively available to our students and alumni. It is an ideal way to recruit HLS candidates, especially if your hiring timeline does not coincide with one of our recruitment programs.

If you have any questions regarding our recruitment programs, or if we can assist you with your recruitment efforts at Harvard, please don’t hesitate to contact our recruitment team, our Director of Recruitment and Operations Jesse Ohrenberger, or me.

Finally, we want to express our gratitude and appreciation for the strong relationships we have built throughout the years. We are committed to navigating the recruitment landscape together this season, and we hope for many years to come.

With many thanks,

Mark Weber
