Starting at 9 PM on Friday, August 11th Verizon will conduct another round of maintenance on the Harvard Phone VOIP platform. Activities are expected to run throughout the weekend, ending at midnight on Sunday, August 13th. To mitigate a lengthy disruption throughout the weekend VoIP services will failover to the backup platform, however noted below are the brief interruptions expected as a result:
Voice Service is expected to be available throughout the weekend once the maintenance begins and device re-registration is complete.
- Jabber will experience a short interruption in service Friday evening starting at 9 PM during the failover and again on Sunday evening when services are rolled back to the primary servers. Users may need to log out and back into the jabber client after each failover.
- VOIP devices will experience a short interruption in service on Friday evening starting at 10 PM during the failover and again on Sunday evening when service are rolled back to the primary platform. Devices will re-register and HUIT Harvard Phone will monitor to confirm devices reset as expected.
