Mitchell Chervu Johnston

Mitchell Johnston is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Project on the Foundations of Private Law. His research primarily focuses on the analysis of private law from a law and economics perspective with a focus on remedies. He is currently working on articles about the effects of positive transaction costs on networks of transactions as well as the potential for subcompensatory damages to address recurring problems in tort law. Previously he was a member of Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court and Appellate practice and served as a clerk for Chief Judge Debra Ann Livingston on the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

He has a J.D. from Yale and a B.S.E. from Princeton in operations research and financial engineering.
