Biography
Manish K. Mital is an executive leader at Bridgewater Associates responsible for strategic corporate initiatives including driving commercial strategy, transition, and institutionalization efforts. He previously held oversight responsibilities for client service, marketing, and foreign expansion on behalf of the Office of the Chairman. Mr. Mital additionally serves as an appointed Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, having been recruited to create and teach the school’s flagship funds course, Hedge and Private Equity Funds: Law & Policy.
Prior to joining Bridgewater, Mr. Mital was an equity partner, Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel, and member of the Executive Committee of Halcyon Capital Management, a global multi-manager investment firm managing assets in hedge funds, private equity, liquid alts, securitizations, and other strategies. Mr. Mital began his career as a litigator at Williams & Connolly, after which he served as a federal enforcement official with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission focusing primarily on hedge and private equity fund malfeasance.
Mr. Mital earned his BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his JD, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He has served on the Boards of the LSTA and the Harvard Institutional Investor Forum and the Development Committee of the Innocence Project, and is an active member of the Leadership Now Project, the IA Impact Project, and the Federal Bar Council.
Originally from Auburn, New York, Mr. Mital lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with his wife Sonya, children Johan and Maj-Britt, and their dogs, Baxter and Pippi.
