 Palestine” by the Office of the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights. La
 st year\, the New York Times called him “one of the followers of Martin Lut
 her King\, Jr.\,” and the New York Times Magazine called him “the Palestini
 an Gandhi.” Amnesty International and the United Nations have also recogniz
 ed Issa as a Human Rights Defender. In 2023\, he received the HLS Advocates
 /Harvard Human Rights Journal’s Global Advocacy Award.</p><p>Join Advocates
