 ou with other judges.  Attendees consent through their registration to the 
 program being recorded. Both current students and alumni are welcome. You m

 udge M. Tia Johnson\, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (on Zoom\,
  limited to 20 RSVPs).</p><p>Judge Johnson began her career in the U.S. Arm
 y Judge Advocate General’s Corps\, where she specialized in international a
 nd national security law. In 2002\, she became the first African American f
 emale to be selected to the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army’s JAG Corps’ 2
 27-year history. In her final assignment\, she served as the Senior Militar
 y Assistant to the Department of Defense General Counsel. Prior to ascendin
 g to the bench\, Judge Johnson served in the Obama Administration as the As
 sistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of Homelan
 d Security and a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforce
 ment office. She was also a visiting fellow at the University of Virginia S
 chool of Law and a professor of national security law Georgetown.</p><p> </
