Ma tthew Gutmann\, Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Brown University\, st udies on gender\, masculinity\, sexuality\, reproductive health\, and socia l change in Latin America\, with a focus on Mexico. His books include Are M en Animals? How Modern Masculinity Sells Men Short\, The Meanings of Macho: Being a Man in Mexico City\, and Fixing Men: Sex\, Birth Control\, and AID S in Mexico.
Alicia Ely Yamin\, Lecturer on Law and Director of the G lobal Health and Rights Project at the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law Sc hool\, is a scholar of health and human rights whose work centers on reprod uctive justice\, maternal health\, abortion rights\, and democratic account ability in Latin America and beyond. She has written extensively on sexual and reproductive rights in Peru\, Argentina\, Brazil\, and the broader Lati n American region. Yamin is also Senior Adviser on Human Rights and Health Policy at the global health justice organization\, Partners In Health and R esearch Leader on “gender and the law” at the Centre on Law and Social Tran sformation.
