The Jessup is the oldest and largest i
nter-school moot court competition. It simulates a fictional dispute betwee
n countries before the International Court of Justice\, typically focusing
on topical or ongoing debates in international law. Each school's five-memb
er team submits written memorials on the problems\, and there are national
and global mooting rounds in the spring. This is a phenomenal co-curricular
for anybody interested in public international law\, international arbitra
tion\, oral advocacy\, or brief writing!
If you are in
terested\, please note that we will hold an information session at
5:30
PM on Wednesday\, September 10 in WCC 4061. We'll give an overview of t
he Jessup competition\, this year's subject matter\, and some more in-depth
details of the HLS team tryout process. We will also have plenty of time f
