Nicklas A. Akers is the Senior Assistan t Attorney General in charge of the Consumer Protection Section of the Cali fornia Department of Justice\, which investigates and prosecutes violations of California’s consumer protection and privacy laws. His representative m atters include People v. Heald (Corinthian Colleges)\, the Volkswagen emiss ions litigation\, and the office’s residential mortgage-backed securities\, opioids\, and social media litigation. He is a graduate of Harvard Law Sch ool\, the Harvard School of Public Health\, and UCLA\, and he is admitted i n California\, Massachusetts and New York.
