s both a social good\, that should benefit the largest number of people in
the most significant way possible\, and a resource\, that can be disseminat
ed and withheld as a means of exerting power. The global access to informat
ion crisis accentuates the need for sustainable\, coordinated efforts by in
stitutions around the world to collect and preserve information and make it
accessible. It is imperative that librarians\, information professionals\,
information users\, and other stakeholders develop resilient\, sustainable
collections that counter current disruptions and withstand future attacks.
This talk proposes the development of Sustainable Information Access Goals
(SIAGs) to serve as a framework for fostering resilient collections and pr
otecting access to information globally.

Jennifer E. Chapman is the f
