You are invited to a workshop for clinic s tudents (past and present) on how best to represent clients who have experi enced trauma and how to practice trauma-informed lawyering. The session wi ll explore how experiences of trauma (both individual and systemic) impact clients\, how trauma responses impact clients’ interactions with legal syst ems and the attorney-client relationship\, and how to integrate trauma-info rmed approaches into your advocacy for clients. This workshop will feature presentations by a mental health professional and lawyers experienced in tr auma-informed lawyering and will allow students opportunities to workshop r eal-life examples to build their lawyering skills. Students will be invited to provide their feedback about the workshop at the conclusion of the sess ion.
