 p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap">John V. Meigs Jr. was born and raised in
  Los Angeles. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Sta
 nford University in 1991 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1995.<
 /p><p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap">Meigs was admitted to the California
  bar and began practicing law in 1995 as a general litigation associate in 
 the Los Angeles office of Kirkland & Ellis. After a year in private practic
 e\, he served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Audrey B. Collins in th
 e Central District of California.</p><p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap">In
  1997\, Meigs returned to private practice and joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhar
 t Oliver & Hedges\, where he specialized in entertainment litigation\, repr
 esenting studios and individual clients in the motion picture and televisio
 n industries. In 2000\, he transitioned to entertainment transactional work
  when he joined the legal affairs department of Twentieth Century Fox Telev
 ision.</p><p class="mb-2 whitespace-pre-wrap">In 2001\, Meigs joined the Be
 verly Hills entertainment boutique firm now known as Hansen\, Jacobson\, Te
 ller\, Hoberman\, Newman\, Warren\, Richman\, Rush\, Kaller\, Gellman\, Mei
 gs & Fox LLP. He is a partner who represents writers\, actors\, directors a
 nd producers in motion pictures and television.</p><p class="mb-2 whitespac
 e-pre-wrap">His clients include Issa Rae and Prentice Penny\, creator and c
 o-showrunner\, respectively\, of “Insecure”\; Jay Ellis\, who appeared in “
 Insecure” and “Top Gun: Maverick” and stars in the upcoming ABC series “The
  Rookie: North”\; Kaley Cuoco\, who starred in “The Big Bang Theory” and “T
 he Flight Attendant”\; Damson Idris\, star of “Snowfall” and co-star of “F1
