John Hamill is a nationally recognized first chair trial lawyer who advises sophisticated clients on their most sophisticated matters. His diverse practice runs the full range of complex litigation\, including in highly regulated sectors. He is a leading member of DLA Piper's Global Medi a Sports & Entertainment sector and spearheads the firm's litigation practi ce in the sports world. John's practice includes some focus on competition and antitrust matters. He also handles high-stakes disputes and class actio ns involving RICO\, ERISA\, failed transactions\, professional liability\, and all types of commercial tort and contract matters\, including affirmati ve litigation to protect clients' business interests.
John is deeply committed to pro bono work and has been recognized for his "vigorou s" practice representing plaintiffs seeking relief under §1983\, including multiple civil rights trials. John is DLA Piper's national hiring partner a nd serves on multiple DLA Piper leadership committees. John graduated from Harvard Law School in 1993 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1990.
