Jennifer Lane is a seasoned legal professional and recognized leader in ethics\, diversity\, and advocacy. She currently serve s as Lead Ethics Counsel and Co-Chair of Women at Airbnb. Jennifer has play ed a pivotal role in shaping Airbnb’s approach to ethical governance and co mmunity trust. In addition to her corporate leadership\, Jennifer brings ov er seven years of experience as a Visiting Faculty Member at Harvard Law Sc hool\, where she co-teaches the Trial Advocacy Workshop – the institution’s largest and most popular course.
Her earlier career includes serving as Senior Counsel for Enforcement at FINRA from 2019 to 2022\, where Jenni fer led major investigations of the nation’s largest broker-dealers for NYS E\, Nasdaq\, and other exchanges. Her responsibilities included eliciting t estimony from C-suite executives\, overseeing the analysis of complex tradi ng data\, and negotiating global settlements of federal securities violatio ns. From 2014 to 2019\, Jennifer served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York\, prosecuting whit e-collar felonies such as money laundering\, cybercrime\, and complex fraud s. During her time there she co-founded the Diversity Advisory Board\, pion eering recruitment and retention strategies for lawyers of color\, and part icipated in a diversionary program for nonviolent offenders that became a n ational model.
Jennifer’s legal journey began as a Litigation Associa te at Paul\, Weiss\, Rifkind\, Wharton & Garrison LLP\, where she contribut ed to landmark cases including the largest auction-rate securities FINRA ar bitration to proceed to hearing. She also maintained an active pro bono pra ctice\, advocating for refugees\, indigent defendants\, and conducting inte rnal investigations for organizations affiliated with the U.S. Olympic Comm ittee.
Earlier\, Jennifer served as a Federal Law Clerk for both the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. Court of Appe als for the Sixth Circuit. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2009 and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
