Gwendolyn Renigar\, a litigation partner in the Washington \, DC office of Steptoe LLP\, serves as the Chair of her firm. Before takin g on her firm’s management\, Gwen served as Steptoe vice chair for four yea rs and general counsel for six years.

In her client practice\, Gwen d efends law firms\, professionals\, fiduciaries\, financial services provide rs\, and healthcare industry clients in complex litigation raising breach o f fiduciary duty\, contract\, and professional liability claims. Gwen also counsels lawyers and law firms on loss prevention practices\, risk manageme nt\, policy setting and implementation\, and lawyer mobility.

In her management role\, Gwen leads the firm’s corporate governance and client ini tiatives\, sets and implements the strategic plan\, oversees the business a ffairs of the firm\, and manages the legal and business professional talent . She has added $110 million in revenue\, doubled the firm’s profits per eq uity partner\, and opened two new offices for Steptoe in her first three ye ars as chair. The firm has recently launched a flexi-billable program for i ts associates\, maintained its hybrid office approach\, and doubled its pro fessional training.

Gwen graduated from Princeton University with a b achelor’s in politics\, and then Harvard Law School with a cum laude J.D. She began her career as a law clerk for the Hon. Lee H. Rosenthal i n the Southern District of Texas.
