As Orrick's Head of US Venture and Bay Area Technology Companies practice\, Ellen leads the firm’s commitment to the venture fund community\, bringing the best of Orrick’s talent and resources to support the firm’s fund clients\, and works closely with Orrick teams across vertic als to build and grow the firm’s market-leading platform for investors and emerging companies in the Bay Area. Prior to Orrick\, Ellen was a member of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and a co-founder of Edgewood Law Partners LLP.
Ellen has spent more than twenty years in the tech and venture ecosystem and leverages her broad network and deep understanding of both th e tech sector and legal landscape to effectively and strategically advise e merging companies and investors on a wide range of critical needs.
On the company side\, Ellen’s clients range from early startups to mature pri vate companies. She advises companies and founders on formation\, venture f inancings\, governance\, M&A transactions\, corporate and securities matter s\, commercial transactions and litigation strategy
Over her career\, Ellen has represented both private and public companies and has worked wit h both small startups and large multinational enterprises\, as well as the executives\, investors and advisors involved in those businesses. Ellen als o works closely with some of the leading venture capital and growth equity firms\, whose principals she advises in connection with financings\, equity structuring and corporate governance.
