 >Annie Small is the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of Renaissance 
 Technologies\, LLC\, where she also serves as a Member of the Board of Dire
 ctors. In addition\, she oversees the Human Resources\, Investor Relations\
 , and Marketing Departments. Before joining Renaissance in 2017\, she serve
 d in a variety of positions in the Obama Administration\, including four ye
 ars as the General Counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. 
 In this role\, she advised Chair Mary Jo White\, the Commissioners\, and th
 e Commission’s Divisions and Offices on a range of issues focusing on enfor
 cement\, regulatory matters\, and oversight\, and she represented the Commi
 ssion in the Courts of Appeals\, including in enforcement matters and chall
 enges to agency regulations. Ms. Small previously worked at the White House
 \, serving as Associate White House Counsel and Special Assistant to the Pr
 esident from 2011-2013. Earlier in 2011\, she served as the SEC’s Deputy Ge
 neral Counsel for Litigation and Adjudication. Prior to her government serv
 ice\, Ms. Small was a partner with the law firm of Wilmer Cutler Pickering 
 Hale and Dorr\, where she was a member of the Litigation and Controversy De
 partment as well as the Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation Group. Earli
 er in her career\, she served as a law clerk to Justice Stephen G. Breyer o
 n the U.S. Supreme Court and to Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of 
 Appeals for the Second Circuit.</p><p>Ms. Small also serves as a member of 
 the Board of Directors of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund\, In
 c.</p><p>She received her B.A. from Yale University\, <em>cum laude</em>\, 
 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School\, <em>magna cum laude</em>\, where she
  won the Sears Prize and served as President of the Harvard Law Review.</p>
