40th Anniversary of the Human Rights Program

Mark your calendars! HRP is celebrating its 40th anniversary on October 17, 2024.

The 40th anniversary celebration will center a half-day academic workshop at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA, featuring distinguished speakers who will reflect on the journey of the human rights movement and envision its future. In addition to HRP members and affiliates, confirmed speakers and guests include:

Karima Bennoune, Lewis M. Simes Professor of Law at the University of Michigan;
Ryan Goodman, Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Professor of Law at New York University School of Law;
Benyam Dawit Mezmur, member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Professor of Law and Deputy Dean for Research and Post-Graduate Studies, Faculty of Law, the University of the Western Cape;
Martha Minow, 300th Anniversary University Professor at Harvard Law School;
Makau Mutua, SUNY Distinguished Professor and the Margaret W. Wong Professor at the University at Buffalo School of Law;
Jessica Neuwirth, Distinguished Lecturer and Rita E. Hauser Director, Human Rights Program, City University of New York, and one of the founders and Honorary President of Equality Now;
