Mike McNamara is the Chief Executive Officer of Dentons US and a member of the Global Management Committee of Dentons, the world’s largest law firm with 19,000+ people in 193 locations in 77 countries.
As Chief Executive Officer, Mike is responsible for leading the advancement of Dentons’ strategy and vision in the US, including advancement of its intentions to become the first truly national law firm in the United States through Project Golden Spike, for the benefit of Firm clients. He guides the client service, innovation, strategic and growth initiatives of the Firm across the US, linking clients and their business priorities to the talent and capabilities Dentons offers around the world.
As a practicing lawyer with more than two decades of experience, Mike brings a dynamic understanding of the intersection of business, law, innovation and regulation to client engagements. He provides board-level counsel to multinational businesses and organizations facing complex transactions and disruptions—particularly in instances where significant public policy considerations must be informed by regulatory and political sensitivities. He has represented corporations, investor groups and high net worth individuals in the structuring and negotiation of transactions valued at more than US $100 billion.
Throughout his career, Mike has been deeply engaged in corporate crisis management and response, advising clients facing major events or market interruptions on legal, political and stakeholder communications strategies. This includes responding to US government investigations, international sanctions, judicial proceedings and other bet-the-company matters.
The Traphagen Series was launched twenty-five years ago to provide students with an informal setting in which to hear firsthand about the career experiences of alumni who have distinguished themselves in law, business, public service, or the arts. In a normal year, speakers meet with small groups of students over lunch in Cambridge. This year, due to the global pandemic, the Traphagen Series will take place virtually via Zoom.
Please note that this event is for HLS students only and all attendees must register with their Harvard email address. Once your registration has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link. Please register using the link below:
