The Harvard Immigration Project proud to host “Total and Complete Shutdown: A Panel Discussion on Trump v. Hawaii, and the Travel Ban”. This will be a panel discussion on the current administration’s so called “travel ban” . This panel will facilitate a critical dialogue that touches upon the political climate which gave rise to this policy, the legal and social implications of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Trump v. Hawaii on the Muslim-American community in particular, and what recourse these communities have available to them to address the injustices that have resulted. This will give students an opportunity to gain a more comprehensive understanding on these issues, and how they can effectively engage with them through legal practice and social advocacy.
Our panel will be compromised of Shannon Al-Wakeel from the Muslim Justice League, Professor Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia from Penn State Law School, Professor Peter Marguiles from RWU Law, and Phil Torre from the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic.
LUNCH WILL BE SERVED.
