Join us for lunch and a discussion with Burmese Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Esther Htusan on the gendered impact of the rise of religious fundamentalism and populist nationalism in Myanmar. Having worked to uncover and disrupt human trafficking networks in Southeast Asia, including those exploiting Rohingya women, Htusan will share her insights on the threats facing women in vulnerable communities and the impact of the crisis on women’s rights advocacy in Myanmar. The workshop will be moderated by Yee Htun, Lecturer on Law and Clinical Instructor at the International Human Rights Clinic.

Lunch will be served.

Part of the ILSP-LSC Workshop Series on Gender, Law, and Society. Co-sponsored by the Harvard Asia Center, the Human Rights Program, the Religious Literacy Project at Harvard Divinity School, and the Muslim Law Students Association.
