Ying Xin is the executive director of the Beijing LBGT Center, a non-profit, community-based organization that advances gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender rights in China. Founded in 2008, the group provides mental health services, such as an LGBTQ-friendly therapist network, and supports various advocacy programs. Mental health poses serious problems for the youth globally, especially for the LGBTQ community. The talk will examine how the group combines litigation, international law, and international medical standards to effectively advocate for the Chinese LGBTQ community on mental health issues.
