OPIA’s Careers at the U.S. Department of State

Join a representative from the Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser to learn about legal careers at the U.S. Department of State. Find out about the opportunities that exist for attorneys in the State Department and how to best position yourself to get a job there. Cookies and coffee served.

Sabeena Rajpal has been an attorney adviser at the Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser for over 11 years.  She has worked in a number offices covering a range of topics from overseas real estate acquisitions and sales to human rights and refugee issues to issues arising in the Maghreb and Arabian Gulf.  Prior to coming to the Department, Ms. Rajpal worked for Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in their Washington DC office and then clerked for Chief Judge Hogan of the District Court of the District of Columbia.  She is a graduate of Tufts University and Georgetown University Law Center.
