Come learn more about what mock trial is and whether it’s right for you!
The HLS Mock Trial Association is a diverse, student-run organization committed to creating a community where law students can learn and develop trial-advocacy skills.
Law school teaches students how to read and write about the law, but doesn’t always prepare students to stand up in a courtroom and make an argument. That’s what we do at HLS Mock Trial. If you ever want to “stand and deliver” in front of judges and juries, HLS Mock Trial may be for you.
We compete at tournaments throughout the year and across the country. Students act as attorneys, conduct direct and cross examinations, and deliver opening and closing statements. Some tournaments require teams to provide their own witnesses. In that event, students will take turns playing both witness and attorney roles.
We have a tradition of success in the courtroom, competing at and winning some of the best mock trial competitions in the country.
