Katie Fahey turned a Facebook post into a statewide movement against gerrymandering — and won.
At age 28, she decided to take a stand against gerrymandering in Michigan. The outpouring of support she received was so overwhelming that she channeled it into a movement for a ballot initiative to end gerrymandering through an independent redistricting commission. It worked — the ballot initiative passed in November 2018.
She’s coming to HLS to discuss how young people, especially young women, can affect change in the public sphere.
