JOLT – Applying Human Rights Standards to Social Media

Professor Aswad will be discussing issues relating to her vision for translating human rights law protections to the context of social media. She will draw on two of her articles (The Future of Freedom of Expression Online and Losing the Freedom to Be Human). She will also discuss her work on the Facebook Oversight Board. In addition, Prof. Aswad will share reflections on the upsides of pursuing nontraditional career paths in the law.
