Innovative Approaches to Migrant Worker Advocacy: A talk with Mervat Jumhawee from the El Hassan Workers’ Center (Jordan)

December 1, 2017 @ 11:45 am - 1:30 pm

The majority of garment workers in Jordan’s free trade zones are women who have temporary visas from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar and other countries. The El Hassan Workers’ Center connects these workers with crucial services and empowers them to advocate for their legal rights.
Join us for a lunch talk with Ms. Mervat Al Jumhawee, the Advocacy Officer for the El Hassan Workers’ Center, who will discuss the Workers’ Center’s innovative approaches to organizing for improved labor standards for migrant workers.
