The Arts and Culture Caucus, and Crimson Poets Society at HKS invite you to an Open Mic Night on Monday, November 18th, 8pm focused on the theme of belonging, and emceed by Professor Tim McCarthy. The theme can be interpreted liberally and we welcome performances in any medium – poetry, storytelling, dance, music, a scene, a piece of artwork, or something else entirely. There is also no need to perform in order to attend – we need an enthusiastic audience too!
You don’t have to “sign-up” to perform, but if you’d like to let us know what you’re planning, you can fill out the brief form below. We’ll also have pizza and beer!
More on theme: The need to belong and form attachments is universal among humans. To belong or not to belong is a fluid reality, shaped by our choices, and the choices of others. We each have spaces and people with whom we feel connection and the freedom to be our truest selves. We also know the pain of exclusion, otherness, or the experience of being on the outside.
See below for the full details. We hope you can join us for what promises to be a lively night of creative exchange and community building.
