Please join us for our third and last lunch talk and coffee chat of the semester by Dr. Linda Piwowarczyk, Director of the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights!
“Each year individuals flee their countries in search of safety due to persecution – Many of whom have experienced severe forms of trauma. Through the lens of the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights, we will look at the impact of immigration-related delays on families back home. Moreover, when working with torture survivors and survivors of human rights violations, there are psychological considerations to be taken into account in view of their trauma narratives. The work can be both inspiring and challenging. As legal providers, work with asylum seekers can also predispose to secondary trauma.”
