Empirical Bioethics: The Example of Research on Prenatal Testing; Harvard Empirical Legal Studies Series

February 26 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Please join us for Professor Vardit Ravitsky‘s talk, Empirical Bioethics: The Example of Research on Prenatal Testing (abstract below).

Empirical bioethics is an emerging field within bioethics, allowing an expansion of methodological scope and findings, but also raising tensions regarding the use of empirical findings in normative arguments. This talk will explore these tensions by using the case study of empirical work on prenatal genetic testing, in particular non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). Ravitsky will discuss the work of her research team in empirical bioethics, as well as its implications for practice and policy.
