Critical Race Theory: History of Campus Activism for Racial Justice

April 2 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join the organizers of the upcoming Critical Race Theory Conference and HLS 3L Emanuel Powell to trace the history of campus activism for CRT and racial justice to the present moment. We will connect this history to our current “asks” for faculty and classes in CRT.

What advocacy took place in the decades leading up to the first woman of color, Lanier Guinier, being hired to the tenured HLS faculty in 1998? What has happened since and what is the unfinished work at HLS to address racial and other inequities?
