HLS Staff and Students, please join the Harvard Immigration Project and OCP in hosting Veronica Serrato, the Executive Director of Project Citizenship, for a training session ahead of Boston Citizenship Day. Volunteers are needed to assist immigrants applying for citizenship at an annual Citizenship Day in Boston on September 30. Project Citizenship assists over 1,600 immigrants each year and hopes to serve 400 on September 30. 75% of Project Citizenship clients obtain a fee waiver. 95% of Project Citizenship’s clients achieve citizenship.
Volunteers are needed on Sunday, September 30 from 10 am to 4 pm (as well as future events) to assist immigrants in requesting waivers of the $725 filing fee. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Training is mandatory and will be offered on Wednesday, September 26th 5:30 – 7:00 pm in Wasserstein Hall Room 1019. Dinner will be provided at the training.
