Accommodations are available upon request for people with disabilities on both Class Day and Commencement Day. Accommodation requests must be made through the Dean of Students Office via the online request form for all Class Day and Commencement activities.

Accommodations for Class Day and Commencement Day

  • Accessible seating for candidates or guests
  • Accommodations for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals
  • Sign language interpreters at both Commencement Day and Class Day
  • Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs)
  • Accessible parking
  • Accommodations for people with visual impairments

Although you or your guests are encouraged to bring your own, wheelchairs will be available for loan for Class Day and Commencement Day ceremonies via advanced request and by completing the accommodation request form.

Please note that, for Class Day, three seats will be reserved: one for the person requesting accessible seating and two additional seats for companions or guests. For the Law School Diploma Ceremony, 10 seats will be reserved to accommodate the person(s) requesting accessible seating and additional guests of the graduate.

The Accessibility Accommodation Request form is experiencing technical difficulty. To make an accommodation request, please email Please submit all requests by May 4th. Please include the following information in your email:

  • Brief Description of the Accommodation Request
  • Indicate which ceremonies accommodated guests plan to attend (HLS Class Day, 5/23 @ 2:30pm—*3 accessibility tickets max, HLS Diploma Ceremony, 5/24 @ 11:45am–*10 accessibility tickets max, University Morning Ceremony, 5/24 @ 9:45am–*2 guest seats max, University Afternoon Ceremony, 5/24 @ 2:30pm–*2 guest seats max)
  • Please indicate desired accommodations (Wheelchair Accessible Seating, Non-Wheelchair Accessible Seating, Wheelchair Loan, Accessible Parking, Sign Language Interpreter, Assistive Listening Device, Other)

All requests will receive confirmation via email from after they have been processed. Please allow up to 5 business days for our office to process requests. If you have not received confirmation 5 business days after submitting your request, please check your Spam/Junk folder, as occasionally email confirmations end up there. The confirmation email guests receive will provide additional information related to the specific needs of that guest.

Information Booth during Events

The Information Booth is a tent conveniently located outside of the Caspersen Student Center on the Harvard Law School campus, in between Holmes Field and Jarvis Field. The HLS Accessibility Services team will be present at the booth to assist with any day-of accommodation related questions or needs.
