This seminar will do a deep dive in to the Erie doctrine.  We will start by reading the full Hart & Wechsler treatment.  Will will read the recent cases and highlights in the literature, and then will focus on three modern problems: complex litigation, arbitration, how Erie squares with the original understanding of the Constitution.
