Commencement #4

Dear Harvard Law School Graduating Class of 2021,

Please review and complete the steps outlined on your program’s checklist below.

J.D. Graduation Checklist

LL.M. Graduation Checklist

You should also:

  • Complete the Graduate Program year-end survey (details forthcoming in a separate communication).
  • Provide post-graduation contact information to the Graduate Program.
  • Upload a final PDF of your required written work, along with a signed Library Authorization Form, to Canvas (the paper will be printed out and provided to the HLS Library in hard copy).

Return Harvard Library Books

Return any books you have borrowed from Harvard Library to the following address:

Widener Library
c/o Access Services
1 Harvard Yard
Cambridge, MA 02138

Media mail shipping through USPS is the cheapest way to mail books back. To protect library materials in transit, review these packing guidelines. If you need financial assistance to send books back, email hl_access_services@harvard.edu. Staff will work with you to find a solution or provide pre-paid mailing labels.

Students who remain on/near campus may return books in person to the Mass Avenue entrance of Widener Library.

Please note we have limited staff on-site to check materials back in, so items may remain as “checked out” in your HOLLIS account longer than they normally would. Your account will be updated as soon as it is feasible to do so and fines will not accrue.

If you have questions or need additional information about how to return books, contact hl_access_services@harvard.edu.

Return Rented Coop Textbooks

The deadline to return spring semester rental textbooks from the Coop is 5/17/21

Students who rented textbooks should have received an email with instructions to generate a $5.00 UPS shipping label for those who wish to ship their books back to the store. If you have not received this email, please contact bksharvardlaw@bncollege.com.

ITS/Email

Access to Canvas, and other HLS resources will expire six weeks after your graduation date. More information about your account post-graduation can be found here.

Insurance Coverage

Coverage under the Harvard University Student Health Plan (HUSHP) will end on July 31, 2021. It is not possible to continue this plan beyond the end date. However, several local and national carriers offer non-group insurance. While Harvard does not endorse any particular company, you can find additional details here.

Access to the Library

HLS alumni are always welcome to visit the library when it is open. All you need to do is let the staff at the Circulation Desk know that you’re an alum. If you are graduating this year, your current HUID will serve as your alum library access card.

Update Your HLS Amicus Profile

As the year is coming to a close, remember to stay connected to your classmates through HLS Amicus! After Commencement, you will be moved from LawList to the Alumni Directory. Login to update your profile, connect with other alumni, and sign up to serve as a mentor to a new group of HLS students.

Join the Harvard Law School Association

Today, the Harvard Law School Association (HLSA) consists of over 40,000 members and more than 40 Clubs and Shared Interest Groups around the globe.

Visit alumni.harvard.edu and login to connect with your local HLSA Club.
